Multiplayer joining problems for single player worlds

Aidan Beulter shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

My friend and I play on a world that is on my computer and he joins me with steam. But when he tries to join my world his game will almost always crash. It would normally work if we waited about a day and then he could join one time. But now that doesn't work anymore. Now it only works if I go and kill his ghost before he joins and then he joins and respawns and it's fine. And if needed I can send in my friends log files. I am on a trip so i cant send in the log files but I can send them in on August 9th if needed.

Hello, Aidan!

Sorry to hear your friend is experiencing this issue. Could you please tell me if the world is modded? If so, can this be tried without mods? Is this only when joining your world and not official servers? If you make a fresh world and your friend joins, does the same thing happen? We would need to see a log from your friend when they are available :)

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

The game is not running any mods but it is in experimental mode. When I make a new world then he can join it just fine but it was the same thing for the survival world for about a week and then these problems started to happen.

Hello, Aidan!

Thank you for the further information and logs. Just to double-check, is this your friend's log? There doesn't appear to be an exception or crash in the log.

Yes it is my friends log. I think that there were some other older logs that he can send in to if needed.

Hello. Aidan!

Thank you for the clarification. Are the logs definetly from a crash to desktop? They don't appear to have an exception or crash in them as mentioned previously. If you could please double-check with your friend that they are from a crash happening :)

Hello, Aidan!

There is a line in the log that mentions "Sandbox.Game.Screens.MyLoadingException: Disconnected from network as player signed out of Steam service." This might be caused by an internet disconnection so please could you check this? Also, would it be possible to have a copy of your save from where you are experiencing this issue?

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Hi I'm just commenting to make sure that you got the world file that I sent 3 days ago, since I have not gotten a response yet I just want to make sure.

Hello, Aidan!

Thank you for the save file. Just to go back to my previous point, there is a line in the log that mentions "Sandbox.Game.Screens.MyLoadingException: Disconnected from network as player signed out of Steam service." This might be caused by an internet disconnection so please could you check this? Has the user had any issues with their connection at all?

I don't have any problems with my internet but my friends internet can sometimes blip out for a few seconds but when he is joining my we don't have any internet connection problems. And steam says that it's sighed in and it doesn't sign out.

Hello, Aidan!

That could be the issue. If your friend's internet blips out, that could be why they are having trouble connecting to your world. As mentioned, the log shows that your friend is disconnecting even briefly. Could they look into why this their internet is doing this?

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
