make player character, and grid sizes smaller to increase speed limit, and probably pcu limit
hello!
currently the player character is 2 meters wide, and 4 meters tall compared to an 1,75 meters tall real world person. the 100m/s is roughly translated to 100km/h real world speed which is awful, and actually feels like it.
i have found these so far for speed limit below, none of them are suggesting ship warp engines just like the ones in interstellar rift, and none of them suggests to make the player character, and basically grid of ships smaller such that the speed, and even pcu limit are increased
this is going to be the race of "how small can you go" for speed limit, and pcu limit increasing :)
if everything were just half the size, speed limit would increase to 8 times the current speed limit given that you preserve real acceleration (not the oversized gimic one). pcu limit would also be increased by some i think.
this is because when you decrease all lengths to half of its size in three dee, the volume it contains gets 8 times smaller, and every speed vector is of three components.

100m/s is "roughly translated " to 360km/h, not 100. Thats the old engine limit.
They have released Space Engineers 2, which has 300m/s limit, so you might want to look into that if you want speed .

i calculated the speed in game "100m/s" would be in real life to be rather 157,75km/h to 100km/h - because in game the player character is 4m tall that would be an 1,75m tall person in real life.
for 100km/h the 4 meters tall player character would be an 1,112m tall person in real life - so the 157,75km/h is more common because short people are actually a thing in real life

A aslo by halving every length the player character would become 2 meters tall (from 4 meters tall), that is far closer to the common general height of real world people meaning that the speed will be more realistic to percieve in game

i was wrong with the 4 meters tall player character - it is roughly if not exactly 2 meters tall indeed.
a gravity generator's diameter instead of a radius has completely confused me.

with this suggestion i am not actually interested in making travel times less, but rather in a greater range of speed.

wait... where did u get the proportions of the engineer? a large grid block is 2.5 meters. 5 small grid blocks are one large grid block and the engineer is 3.7-3.8 blocks tall so they are around 1.80 meters tall. that are also like one meter wide including arms and legs stance (although their collider is far bigger than that) wait. u though every small block is one meter x one meter?
