Thruster tiers and speed limit changes

Sometimes it's really boring when you have to pass 120 km at only 100 m/s and it would be too easy if speed limit doesn't exist. The best idea would be something in between. My idea is to make atmospheric thrusters but with tiers, each thruster tier more expensive made from more harder-to-find materials, but higher speed limit. Tier 1 thruster (normal materials, 100 m/s), tier 2 (requires more materials, more power, researched thruster tier 1 tech, but speed limit increased to 150 or maybe 200 m/s), 3rd thruster tier may even require platinum but speed limit also increased.

Add engines of different power. Make the limit a little larger. With different weights and power different speed limits. This actualizes the use of fighters (small grids) in which there is no point since they fly at the same speed as large ones.
