Game crash upon Backpack overflow

Solved

I have ran into a bug where once you attempt to fill the character backpack with more than it's remaining capacity, the game crashes.

I am unsure if the other storage mediums are affected by this bug or if it is a problem on my end. However I definitely know it is a frequent issue as I have encountered it numerous times before I finally realized why it was happening.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Mine or grind / Transfer items into a backpack with limited space

2. If the backpack does not posses the capacity for said components / ore the game will crash.

(Currently Running the game on Steam, with a decent PC, I do not believe it is an issue with overall performance: CPU, GPU, RAM ETC.)fd1be95c2d0c39c715c26b115bf9bd91

the crashes seem to mostly happen when i try to liberate resources from the locations

by liberate i mean grind anything of use

may be something with going over a full inventory as i just crashed with a full inventory while mining

i've found crashing usually happens when transferring items to the inventory of a ship. is this the same for you?

For me it only seems to happen if I use a tool with a full inventory

I tested it some more and it seems to crash 99% of the time when inventory reaches 100% full, from mining, transferring items from containers, and picking components off the ground

Mine crashes whenever I try to do anything related to the starter quest. Or if I use a tool. Also randomly.

This happened to me both with backpack being full and with the 1m (400kg) small cargo crates being full also.

Hello Engineers,

The crash after trying to fill already full inventory has been reported internally. I have added this thread to our internal ticket (SE2-29061)

The patch that went out not long before this post seems to have fixed this issue for me, thanks.
