Hello, AtomicThunder,

thanks for sharing your issue with us. However, when I tried it, it was working just fine. Music from both - jukebox and sound block as well - was played and according to my position the music was shifting from one ear to another.

While it´s true that we currently have bug with music being mono only. Can this somehow affect it for you? I suppose you are using some headphones... are you sure you do not have any special settings e.g. through manufacturer app or some other sound/music software?

See also this thread for the mono issue:

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/music-is-in-mono-why

Is it happening all the time? Can you point me to when (game version) it started to behave like this?

Kind Regards

I am unable to do further testing and sourcing the current game version number as my PC has been sent back to the manufacturer to fix a stuttering issue.

The tread liked is not the issue I am experiencing every other sound in the game is perfectly fine; it is only the jukebox and sound block that have this problem. My headsets settings are normal flat preset with 3d surround sound disabled.

I don't know when this issue started because I only started using the sound block and jukebox for aesthetic reasons recently. This issue is happening all the time. Whenever I play multiplayer, my friends only hear the sound the right ear as well.

Hello, again,

so I tried to test it even more - singleplayer, DS, Lobby multiplayer - and both blocks were working for both players I was testing it with. If I stand with the character having the block on character´s right hand side, the sound was coming from the right. When standing with the block to character´s left hand side, sound was coming from the left headphone.

Tried to mess around even with the Sound mode settings in Advanced World Settings - Arcade and Realistic. Same result.

Once you have you PC back, can I please ask for the save of one of the affected world, with blocks already placed there so I can check it on your world settings?

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards

Hello, AtomicThunder,

thanks for the save.

Even though, it´s heavily modded, when I found the jukebox and give it a spin, it was playing as it should on my PC/headphones. Right ear, left ear, everything was OK. Thus no change on my side if tested in your modded world and/or putting jukebox in vanilla empty world.

My headphones settings are: 2 channel, 16bit, 48000 Hz.

Can you maybe try with those?

That´s the only think I can so far think of.

Kind Regards

Attached is a screenshot of my audio settings.

The only thing I haven't mentioned is my headset is USB connected to my PC.

Hello, AtomicThunder,

well, this doesn´t help at all, as there is literally no new info I can use for testing. I can just see that you are using Logitech headphones. Even you must agree that does not help.

Did you try to change the bitrate/Hz as I suggested in Speaker properties - Advanced tab?

I too am using USB headset. So that won´t be the problem, I guess.

I tried to change the setting accordingly to yours, but I was able to do it just in Digital Audio device as you are showing on the screen as well. Change the bitrate/Hz on my Speaker device (ConnectIT headphones) is not possible. In my additional testes, all was working as before; without any issue in music whatsoever.

Are you absolutely sure, you did not change any audio setting in some Logitech device app? I ´m pretty sure there is one, as even I have custom ConnectIT app with various audio settings available.

It´s just the "Danger" and "Fun" music, as you have stored in that jukebox in the base?

How many ways can I tell you that the sound is only playing through the right ear for me.

None of your previous suggestions helped or resolved this issue in the slightest so don't get snaky with me. And how did you miss the jukebox and sound block I placed outside on the same gird you loaded in on.

No I did not change any setting in Logitech GHUB.

Your sound SE clearly does not have this issue. I disconnected my headset a used my monitors speakers and earbuds I had sound = in both ears. I tried to change the bitrate before I made this bug report all I can change is the HZ, which has had no effect.

With regards to "It´s just the "Danger" and "Fun" music, as you have stored in that jukebox in the base?" Why would a certain song being played by the jukebox affect the issue itself when all the songs ONLY play through the right ear.

Hello,

everything is still working for me and my colleagues as well. Tested everywhere (outside, inside, on the planet, it the space), with every combination of ingame settings, in singleplayer, lobby (private, friends, public). Works everywhere.

You can try:

  • Verify your game files in Steam
Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file
It means your game configuration will be deleted
You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

That is literally everything I can provide as advices.

Hope something from this list will work and fix the issue you are experiencing.

Kind Regards

Ok this is related to your audio system being bad. I just changed my sound settings from 8 channel (7.1) to 2 channel (Stereo). Can you fix this please.

Hello, Engineers!

Currently we had similar issue reported by other player, and we manage to find the breaking point (at least for him).

It seems that the issue was happening to him because wrong sound device settings in Windows. Can you check and try to change it as well, please?

Do you also have two settings output types in the Windows? If yes, please try to change it according to the comment in the thread I shared here and let me know if it fixes your issue as well.

Thank you in advance.

Hello, Engineers!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are still unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated. It is very likely that the issue is with local character from your Windows/sound/headphones settings.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards

This issue exists for many users, we have been giving you as much information as possible.

I believe it may be the Jukebox not knowing how to port audio to 7.1 Surround Sound, and only can to directional Stereo- which breaks when in a Surround Sound environment like the rest of the game, when Surround Sound is enabled.

Please test the functionality of turning Surround Sound on or off on your headset/headphones.
