Game cannot load old BPs

Need More Information

As the title says. Not entirely sure when the delineation date is, but cannot load old BPs, workshop or local. This is really bad because I have a lot of old ships and can no longer spawn them in.

Hello Ian.

Thank you for writing to us and we sincerely apologize for the delayed response.

Could you kindly provide further details regarding the issue you're experiencing?

Are any error messages displayed when you try to place old blueprints in the world?

Are both local and workshop blueprints present in their respective folders at this path (..\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints)?

Did this issue occur while playing on a modded or on a vanilla ( has no active mods or scripts) world/server/lobby?

Do you have any plugins active in your game? If so, please remove them and check if that resolves the issue.

Additionally, you can try the following workarounds that may help resolve the issue;

Verify your game files in Steam

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg

Once you've tried these steps, please start the game and let us know if the issue persists. If it does, kindly send us the log file from when the issue occurred.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Thank you for the response. I have verified the game files but have not wiped the config or shader cache.

To reproduce the bug;

1. Load an empty vanilla Space Engineers world.

2. Attempt to place a blueprint from release 1.0 or older

3. BP does not load into clipboard and exiting from BP window yields the "Larger grids can take more time to load" message.

Thank you in advance for looking into this.

Hello Ian,

Thank you for providing additional information.

We attempted to replicate the issue on our end, and the blueprint from the older version loads and can be pasted as expected in the current game version.

As mentioned in our previous response, could you kindly send us the log file from the time you experienced this issue, (if it persists after wiping the config or shader cache)? Additionally, please share the affected BP with us as well.

  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.

Kind Regards,

Just for clarity sake, I tested with the "Rescue Rover 1" blueprint. I am attaching the log. Will try deleting shader cache and config now.

Deleted both the cfg and the "ShaderCache2" folder, now some work and some don't. Looks like beta but not alpha?

Tested with Rescue Rover 1, C-1516 Themis, and Stingray Scout II.
