Update 1.201 - Most Wanted

Keen Support shared this announcement 2 years ago

Hello, Engineers!

Our newest release is here! YOU, our community, are the inspiration for this release. We have reviewed your feedback and from it, created a collection of new additions based on your requests. We hope this update contains some of the many items we have seen on wishlists and the support portal. This update contains several highly requested blocks, fixes, and improvements.

While all Major updates are free, many include a premium (DLC) component. This “Community” update is completely free and contains no DLC. On top of this it includes new content for existing DLCs (this means an additional free update for everyone who owns these DLC’s). Our focus in the Community update is on blocks the community may consider missing, and on important fixes across Space Engineers.

This update will be just that, an update that focuses solely on community requested content. We will not be releasing any premium content or DLC with this update.

While we certainly didn't get to every community request (there are many) we focused on realizing as many as possible from the most commonly requested items.

When you look here at the most voted for features, it doesnt look like this update is the Most Wanted.

so why do online mods no longer work in game is there some option I have to turn on to get them back?

I have to say a nice, simple quality-of-life update like this is long overdue and greatly appreciated. I am also grateful that existing DLC's got a little love, to add more value to them.

game updates don't always need to add new features. Revisiting and updating older content is also very good. keep up the great work.

Спасибо за обновление, заметил, что перестал работать инструмент. То есть переключение вариантов идет только в одну сторону, но не заново. Прошу исправить. У меня 3000 часов геймлея, и я очень хочу продолжить наслаждаться шедевром

Very much like it! Can I have a list of mods that are now obsolete, please?

All of the fixes are fantastic. However. Gathering time seems 1/2 as fast now. Has anyone else encountered this? When starting out and picking up rock chunks the gathering speed has been cut in half.

is it just me or is my fps much worse? though there's a pretty good chance it's nvidia's fault since i've updated them since i last played. gonna try reverting.

edit: reverted aaand nope it's not nvidia's fault, still runs like a donkey with no legs.

I really like the new blocks, however I stumbled into an issue. When I create an advanced Rotor (large grid) and add a small head I now get a small conveyor head, it was a 3x3 one before. So, how do I get a 3x3 conveyor head (small grid) on a large grid rotor?

build it separately and attach?

The t-junction tube is a great mod, but lacked the green/yellow connectivity lights of the ability to change the skin. Looks like Keen just grabbed the mod and included it in the main package. Can't change the skin, and any connectivity lights are missing.

Glad it's there by default... I guess.

Look, I think this is a great start. Glad to see you're spending time on improving the game again. I hope this is a springboard for some proper enhancements. Not just the skins and mods that we could have gotten anyway.

It worries me that I don't see the fix in the changelog, for the error of looping sounds that get louder with every loop. You know, the error that makes the game unplayable with sound on, and has been requested to be fixed since your last update, 7 months ago?

Really disappointed to not see more audio fixes in these patch notes, I've continued to find the game quite obnoxious to play with horrible audio glitches that occur in pressurized rooms with running machinery after jumping or activating the jetpack causing audio sounds to lock into place and never stop at a much louder volume than what they naturally occur at and follow the player no matter where you go after the glitch happens. It's been going on for multiple years now but this year its just been terrible and the only way to fix the annoying glitch is leaving the game and re-loading it, which doesnt seem so horrible if the glitch didnt happen every 30 seconds...
