Game hangs when returning to Industrial Foothold mission area (~13 km out)

Need More Information

Hi, I’m reporting a consistent issue where the game completely hangs when returning to the “Engineering – Industrial Foothold” mission area. I am attaching a video showing the exact moment of the freeze.

I finished all mission objectives but didn’t go back to the terminal to officially complete it yet. I initially left the area using the Ion mining ship, but since it lacked the power to tow, I switched to the Sledge (hydrogen ship). I used the Sledge to tow one of the mission ships (shown in the attached image) back to my base.

The hang happens every time I try to fly back to the mission site to retrieve the remaining welder ship. As seen in the video, once I get within roughly 13 km of the mission GPS, the game freezes and becomes unresponsive. I have to manually close it using the Windows “Application not responding” prompt.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start “Industrial Foothold” and complete the objectives (do not turn in at the terminal).
  2. Move away from the site (past ~13 km).
  3. Use a Sledge ship to tow one of the mission grids away from the area.
  4. Fly back toward the mission GPS coordinates.
  5. The game hangs/freezes at around the 13 km mark.

Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600H
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU
  • RAM: 64 GB
  • App Version: 2.2.0.2002

Hello cesar david fernandez garcia,

It seems that there are some missing files in your SE2 install folder. Have you tried verifying your Game files through Steam?

Apart from this, provided logs do not contain any fatal exception. Could you please provide a fresh set of logs if you encounter this crash again?

Kind Regards,

"Hello Bartosz,

I have already verified the game files through Steam as suggested, but the crashes persist.

Since your support portal does not allow .dmp files, I have uploaded the crash dump to Google Drive. I've tested the link and it is working correctly, so you should be able to download it here:

I am also attaching a fresh set of logs from my latest session. Hopefully, the combination of the logs and the memory dump will help you find the cause of the crash.

Kind regards, Cesar"
