Hand Tools have difficulty selecting blocks

When hovering over some blocks, the hand tools (welder/grinder) will lose focus on the block very easily with slight movement. So when welding or grinding I have to be extremely careful not to move my mouse at all or the tool will lose focus on the block being worked on. It's often difficult to select the block in the first place.
My guess is that the block is being selected based on some sort of irregular surface geometry, rather than a simple bounding box.
It seems to mostly occur with blocks that aren't flat surfaces. I noticed the Assembler is particularly bad.
