instant crash if grass density is higher than 0.0

Shing Loong Chieng shared this bug 4 years ago
Solved

I have a R9 3900x, 32gb 3600mhz RAM and a 5700XT. All the other settings can be really high but as soon as I put grass density even at 0.1 I will crash literally on loadup. Sometimes I will crash and I will not be able to move my mouse or do anything with my screens and I will have to hold the power button to turn it off so I can restart the game.

It is an incredibly irritating issue as the game looks a lot worse in my opinion with any grass, is there any fix for this? I have tried reinstalling the game already.

Hello, I have attached a log in this post for your reference. Basically it is as simple as it sounds, I can load in the game with all settings being low medium or high, really does not matter about any other settings other than Grass density.

If grass density is 0.0 I can load into the game and play as normal. As soon as grass density is even 0.1, I will crash, create a game, crash, join a game, crash, join a friend from invite crash.

I can load into the game with 0.0 grass density, then go into options and change it to 0.1 and then suddenly I will crash, I can play for 5 hours, go into the graphics options, turn up graphics density to 0.5, 1, 2, 3, or whatever value and I will crash.

Helo, Engineer!

Thank you for your response. It seems that it's the same problem that was reported here: https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/graphics-driver-crash-error-since-1319-update.

Please try to:

  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file (it means your game configuration will be deleted)
  • Delete ShaderCache folder
  • Reinstall the game

Please let us know if it helped you. If the crash will persist, it's definitely the issue mentioned above. This issue is not just a problem on our side but it's related to graphic drivers. We are sorry you are experiencing this issue.

Kind Regards
