Crashing Randomly

Need More Information

My game keeps crashing on a vanilla, solo survival play through. It gives the "Graphics device driver has crashed. Your card is probably overheating or driver is malfunctioning. Please, update your graphics drivers and remove any overclocking".

I was worried and so I checked all of my systems and I did not find any heating or graphics issues on any other game/app/tool.

I attached the 5 latest logs. The latest one is even after dropping the graphics settings, running as admin, checking for all updates, not playing on experimental mode, removing all mods, deleting all old saves, deleted SpaceEngineers.cfg, deleting shader cache, restoring default settings, fresh Visual C++ (VC Redist) instal and verifying integrity through steam.

I just uninstalled everything, deleted all the files and still crashed. Reinstalled.

Hello engineer,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

We’re aware of this issue, which is known to occur with RTX 4090 graphics cards, and we have an internal ticket open for investigation. Since the issue is still under review and a proper fix may take some time, we’d like to recommend a temporary workaround that may help resolve it on your end.

Please try lowering the Grass Density and Grass Draw Distance settings. To adjust these settings, go to the main menu (in-game), select Options > Graphics, and move the sliders for Grass Density and Grass Draw Distance to lower values. Click OK to apply the changes.

After that, please check if the game still crashes. If it does, we’d appreciate it if you could send us the latest log files so we can investigate further.

Kind regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
