Docked ships cause drift (Contact Update)

Ian Hartzog shared this bug 5 days ago
Duplicate

Basically the parent ship's thrusters aren't counteracting the docked ship's mass. The docked ship's thrusters are turned off. Log attached.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

In planetary gravity, dock small grid with thrusters (turned off) to large grid with thrusters (turned on) via connector. (Not yet tested in space) Observe drifting behavior in large grid.

Hello Ian,

Thank you for writing to us.

It seems that the issue you've encountered is the same as the one reported in this thread. As you can notice there, the player reported that, when a small ship is connected to a large ship, the grid begins to fall or sink when the thrusters on the small grid are turned off.

The same can also happen if the dampeners on the small ship are turned off when it's docked with the large ship. This issue has also been reported internally on this thread.

Since the issue you're experiencing is the same as the one mentioned in the thread above that's already in the 'Reported' state, and we can only keep one thread open with the same issue, we will be closing this thread as a 'Duplicate' for now.

Please keep an eye on the above mentioned thread(s) for any updates, comments or upcoming fixes.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
