Loud roaring sound on large grid - including solution/answer

Won't Fix

Hi,

I had a bug like these two:

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/500t-of-locked-ships-to-base-creates-constant-roaring-sound

and

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/extremely-loud-sound-of-engines-or-thrusters#comment-53906

However, moving the files ArcShipLargeRunLoop3d.wav and/or ArcShipLargeIdle3d.wav as per the player suggested fixes in those 2 bugs don't fix it.

However, I have tried all the files in that folder and the two that are causing the problem (if removed the sound goes away) are:

ArcShipWheelsNoPitchLoop3d and ArcShipWheelsNoPitchLoop2d

From what I can hear I think you need to remove both.

Keen - I hope this helps, it looks like the same bug but with different files.

For clarity these are my symptoms:

  • Must be large grid (I'm guessing over 500t)
  • Is constantly playing
  • Seems to come from the centre of mass
  • If I remove the 2 files mentioned above and reload game then the sound isn't there

Thanks,

R.

Hello, Rob!

Thank you for writing to us.

As you may have noticed, one of these threads has already been solved, and the other one has been outdated. So, to further investigate if this issue still occurs on the latest game version, could you kindly share further information about this issue?

Did you experience this issue in a modded (has active MOD/Scripts) or vanilla (has no MODs/Scripts active) world? If the world was modded, please check if the issue persists in a vanilla world.

If it does, please send us a screen recording/video showing the issue, the vanilla world save file, along with the log files from the time this issue occurred.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
