Solved

The game is telling me I don't have a DX11 card again. I tried the fix that fixed it last time and it didn't work this time. I don't know what Microsoft is doing but they need to not break my games. I'm attaching log files that were created when the error accord and hopefully you make something of them. Good luck with this one.

In the log file, the only graphics drivers mentioned are "Basic render driver"'s which don't support DX11. This may be a driver issue instead of a game issue.

Cheers :-)

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for writing to us.

This is the same exception error you had in the log of your previous thread here.

Could you kindly confirm if you have installed the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer as suggested by us in your previous thread? If not installed, please download and install it from this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

After installation, restart your PC (if prompted). Verify the game files in Steam (Right-click on Space Engineers in the Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files) and launch the game.

If the issue persists, kindly send us the latest log file from when the issue occurred.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department

Yup. That's the same DX installer from last time only this time it doesn't work. The use who commented above saying it could be a driver issue and not the game is on to something there. Only problem is, I have no clue how to fix it this time.

Did you install your driver from the vendor of the graphics card (AMD), or use the one automatically provided by Windows? The reason I ask is because it says it's using the "Microsoft Basic Render Driver" which implies it's one automatically installed by Windows (sometimes rarely an update may install it also).

The one provided by Windows sometimes only has very basic support to get you up and running while the vendor one is usually fully-featured. I would recommend going to AMD's website and looking for a driver there.

As far as I'm concerned I downloaded and installed the driver from AMD. I don't know why windows has to be such a pain right now.

I have somehow resolved my issue and everything is working just fine now. I don't know Y it was broken in the first place but all i had to do was do a complete fresh install of my GPU drivers and it seemed to fix everything. I feel as dumb as rock at the moment so don't mind me. Feel free to mark this topic Solved.
