Defensive AI not working to extend max range for Custom Turret Controller weapons
Target lock from the Defensive AI block will not extend the range of weapons attached to a Custom Turret Controller like it does with all other normal turrets. You can place a turret on the grid with the same max range or longer and it will magically just start working. You can even remove the new turret and the Custom Turret Controller will continue to target at its' weapons max range. But if you reload the save it will stop working until I longer ranged turret is placed back.
My exact scenario I tested was small grid Assault Cannons -> small grid hinge-> small 3x3 Rotor Head on a large grid Rotor-> Main grid with Defensive AI block, Custom Turret Controller. The Defensive AI block was targeting hostile grid just fine but the CTC would not start targeting/firing. Once I placed either a Assault Turret or Artillery Turret, the CTC would function fine. Reaching all the way out to 1400 meters. Functionality stayed after the Assault/Artillery Turret was removed. Game reload removed functionality.
Things to note that is related:
Placing a turret with less range nor placing static weapons with 2km range doesn't correct the issue.
The Defensive AI block will never boost the range of a Custom Turret Controller that is on a subgrid. IE a controller that is on the turret instead of the main grid(Defensive blocks location).

Please let me know if the issue you are experiencing is the same as those two.
