[1.209.024] EOS Servers disappearing in Server Browser
Observed behaviour:
Occasionally, an EOS server will disappear from the Server Browser/Favorites tab. The server is not down at this point, as it is able to be connected remotely via VRRC and players are actively playing/chatting/moving. Refreshing the browser will repopulate the list quickly, seemingly without "searching" for servers. Attempting to use Direct Connect to join the server will present the "Server not responding" pop-up. The server will randomly reappear after a certain time or when the server is manually restarted by an Admin or scheduled restart.
This is largely a new behaviour we're seeing with 1.209.X.
Expected behaviour:
EOS Servers should be present in the Server Browser when actually up and joinable.
Affected Version/s: 1.209.024 b0
Steps to Reproduce:
- None so far. This appears to be happening randomly, but further information, if found, will be added to the ticket in the comments.
- This behaviour is not client-side, if the server disappears for one player, it's not visible for any when viewing the browser.
- It is not console specific, PC players joining EOS are also affected.
Note:
This is affecting players attempting to join Keen Official Game Servers, causing many players to be frustrated enough to stop playing.
I have the same bug
it isn't new to the newest major version but way more common it been happening since probably a month before the major update was released

I have noticed that when all active users log off, the server shows up again. This has been repeatedly observed when it has been just myself and a faction mate or multiple factions. Hope this info helps.

Makes the game unplayable on EOS. at any time, you can get Connection Problem, Game Paused, lose connection and be unable to rejoin. Quite frankly, after playing on EOS for a couple weeks now, I can say that Keens behavior towards the eos servers is shameful. Its absolutely terrible, the conditions that console players have to deal with. Only 3 planets, no strong signals, no reset warnings, constant crashes, dynamic rendering (800m), terrible sim due to infinite alts and players able to make 100k ships, and all the alts have bred a environment of back stabbing and insiding, causing chronic suspicion and xenophobic behaviors. and now add on random dc's with the inability to return, having to deal with whatever happened while u were away. These plaeyrs should get their money back honestly.

Is anything being done about this ? It’s extremely frustrating when you’ve built up on a server and then not been able to access it?

I think it's a player or a few players are maybe manipulating something to keep certain players off the server when they operate or it's a code glitch but the discord says its not the servers so if the coding and servers are fine idk

The only fix I found out how to make the servers to show is by waiting for your schedule restart or by doing a forced restart and it shows after the restarts

EOS US#2 Happening again to me tonight. Second time in a week. I find this extremely frustrating. I feel like I have a love hate relationship with this game.
Some suggestions I have tried…except for joining a friend. I have no friends lol
When official EOS servers disappear from the Xbox server list, it is usually caused by network caching issues, lingering search filters, or Xbox's Quick Resume feature breaking the live server connection.
Here are the most effective ways to find and reconnect to Official Xbox Keen EOS US #2:
1. Fully Quit the Game (Bypass Quick Resume)
Xbox's "Quick Resume" feature frequently breaks the live connection to Epic Online Services (EOS) without showing an error, causing the server list to come up blank or miss specific servers.
* Press the Xbox Button on your controller to open the Guide.
* Highlight Space Engineers, press the Menu Button (three lines), and select Quit.
* Relaunch the game fresh to force a clean handshake with the EOS server master list.
2. Adjust In-Game Search Filters
The console server browser search can occasionally freeze up:
* Check the Tab: Ensure you are explicitly browsing the EOS tab (not Steam) at the top of the multiplayer menu.
* Reset Search Text: Search filters can silently stick. Type US #2 into the search box, hit search, then erase it completely and refresh to force a hard reload.
* Uncheck "Hide Full" & "Hide Empty": If US #2 hits player capacity (e.g., 16/16), it will vanish instantly if your filter hides full servers.
* Toggle "Same Version": Uncheck "Same Version" if a minor game hotfix recently dropped, as servers take a few extra minutes to auto-update.
3. Use the History & Favorites Tabs
Avoid relying solely on the main public server list:
* Navigate to the History tab in the server browser. If you have played on US #2 before, it should stay listed there even when the main server browser fails to query it.
* Once you reconnect, favorite the server so it remains pinned in your Favorites tab.
4. Join via Friends or Faction Members
If you play with a faction or have someone on your Xbox Friends list who is currently on the server:
* Have them send you a direct party/game invite, or select their profile in the Xbox dashboard and select Join Game. This bypasses the in-game browser entirely.
5. Clear Xbox Reserved Space (Local Cache)
If the server list remains stuck for extended periods, the local cache data on your console might be corrupted.
* Go to My games & apps on your Xbox Dashboard.
* Highlight Space Engineers, press the Menu Button, and select Manage game and add-ons.
* Select Saved data.
* Delete Reserved Space ONLY (Do NOT delete your personal profile saved data!).
* Relaunch the game and check the server list again.
> Is the server down?
> If these steps don't work, the server might be stuck mid-reboot or offline for maintenance. You can check the #help-for-official-servers channel on the official Keen Software House Discord to see if other players on US #2 are reporting an outage.
