Piston Head Merge Issue 1.209.024

No Name Never a Name shared this bug 20 days ago
Investigating

The Piston Head of an Extended Piston (Either model) for both Stations or Ships, will merge to the grid when copy/pasting the grid or pasting it in as a blueprint IF there is a block face near it to merge to. This happens with the experimental feature "Share inertia tensor" both enabled or disabled in game settings as well as enabled or disabled on the grid if it's on in game settings.

I was successfully able to replicate this after extending the piston to 3.6m or further. See screenshot for what it looks like before and after placing the copied grid.

I've attached this grid as a blueprint as well.

The only way to fix this is to remove the block that the piston head is merged to. If it's surrounded by blocks, then they all must be removed.

This looks like it affects PS as well, I saw a user on Discord mention the same exact issue.

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching our forum with this problem.

We can see that you have also created thread on the CTG bug forum. It goes with the same name as this one.

Can you please let us know if that issue is exactly the same as you are describing here?

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards,

Sorry I had created it there initially and then remembered someone saying if we run into a bug on Live to create that bug report on the non-CTG forum. However this bug also exist on the CTG build as well.
