Blocks in a grid should be able to belong to more than one group.

Currently the system lets you assign several blocks to a single group. The way it's done in SE2 is a step backwards from SE1. I can in SE1 assign a block to multiple different groups, usually for multiple purposes. I can also add new/replacement blocks to an existing group without having to split up the existing group and recreating it.

Simply put, don't discard proven SE1 behaviors just in the name of 'being different'. Many of these interfaces are familiar and easy and useful, and there's no reason to go radically reinvent the wheel when the wheel works.

I'm still collecting improved things in Let's list things which are improved compared to SE1 (except visuals).... I'll start: | Space Engineers 2 Support

Terminal UI, block naming, group management are definitely not improved. They are big step backwards.

thats a LONG LIST right now, because we have to assume a lot of the system is temporary because the devs want to get through the parts of the game development that we (the alpha testers) can contribute to.

this is just one of the more obvious ones because grouping blocks is kinda an integral part of practically any ship or station design.

Right, we're still in development, but it's never too soon to point out things that are 'missing' and not mentioned specifically on the roadmap. Those things tend to fall off the radar unless there is a demonstrated 'care' from the audience (us).

Definitely need this, assigning multiple groups to a single block is quite helpful when managing mass-grid-production or changing between flight-configurations.
