Crash when trying to open "contract block" datapad

30 mins into a fresh "Welcome to Verdure" and as I approached the outpost contact block, I get the "Contact Block" datapad out of the crate and the game froze when I clicked on it. I'd had no trouble opening datapads earlier in the game.
it didn't seem to do any automatic crash reporting, so i'm attaching my logs here, even though they don't seem to say much other than it froze in the render thread

I have the same bug Access denied
Actually, based on the way my computer behaved after filing this report, I'm pretty sure this was a hardware problem at my end. My SSD was in error mode when I tried to shut down my machine shortly after filing it.
