When jumping on a moving grid, character flies back

Whenever I jump or fall off a ledge on a moving grid, my character flies back at the speed the ship is moving at - it essentially immediately loses all inertia. My best guess is that the game doesn't account for the speed of the moving grid when calculating the speed the player should be moving at after jumping. Interestingly, this issue doesn't seem to happen when using the jetpack, as the speed is accounted for there.

I doubt the game acting like this is intended, though I don't know if the same happens in Space Engineers 1. Either way, this is both rather unrealistic and can pose quite a large problem, especially when the player is exiting a control seat.

Thanks in advance.

Agreed, I doubt this is intended and hope they focus on improving their physics in their engine like they promised in the trailer.

I did some testing, and what's happening is that each time you jump, the jetpack and dampeners activate immediately. I was on a ship moving at 300 m/s without gravity generators enabled, standing on foot with dampeners disabled. When I jumped, the first thing I noticed was that the dampeners and jetpack activated instantly. The main issue is that since the jetpack has a speed limit of 20 m/s, activating it at any higher velocity makes it look like you're suddenly stopping
