Abillity to put diagonal block

Ability to put a block diagonally using triangle as point to attach, allowing more interesting less squared build.

Also the ability to do that without using rotor, hinges ... May improve server stability when the servers are very populated.

At which angle and in all planes?

Would this idea extend to being able to place blocks on 2x1 slopes also (if that makes sense)? It would be great for making more complex shapes

That is the idea, to use the surface of a planes to re-orient the block X, Y or Z orientation. I did not know how to explain it adequately when i put the idea. (Too mutch hours of works, not enought sleep)

That is hoping that the engine can handle it.

The question if the unified grid system in SE2 could handle such stuff. Depends how the did it and how they want to work with subgrids later.

My guess, that it would be easier to add new diagonal blocks, probably as a mod.

I'd like to see this. Either with normal angled blocks or with a special angle block. If I want to start building at a 45 degree angle (for example, this is how I mounted forward-facing player-made missile tubes outside of a corvette in SE1), I currently have to place down hinges. Sub-grids are known to cause weird physics and reduce performance.

Kit Bashing? Neat but I feel a comprehensive tile set and builder would be better

Hull Builder Idea - by me - Older more upvoted Thread

They could all work together as well with the angled blocks!! could cause collision issues in the long term without Boolean operations though.
