I am hoping keen adds a landmark system and new landmarks.

  • There will be a codex.
  • You can discover landmarks and name them in your codex as well as read lore on them.
  • Discovering places encourages exploration and can reward the player with market currency.

New Landmarks

  • Hot springs
  • Geysers
  • Mud baths
  • Lava caves
  • Crystal Caves
  • Ice bergs
  • Methane Lakes

Cave Examples (real life)

  • Pulpí Geode (Geoda de Pulpí) Spain
  • Crystal Ice Cave Iceland
  • Cave of the Crystals (Naica, Mexico)
  • Lechuguilla Cave, New Mexico (USA)
  • Giant Crystal Cave (Put-in-Bay, Ohio, USA)

Potentially could also add swamps, and tropical forests? But I am not sure on the tree density for tropical stuff.

In the future the codex could allow you to take an image of the landmark too, and use that image for the page about that landmark. Essentially you set your own image.

Fields of more dense flowers maybe or Plateau's with lots of flat land to build big bases on.

Yes, that’s a great idea to make planets and their locations seem more unique, so that players would want to explore them using their rovers. It would be awesome if, for example, there was a unique mountain or swamps in just one location on the planet that couldn’t be crossed on foot. All of this would complement my suggestion about creating unique animals in such places very well. It would be cool if you could add likes!

Upvoted, and I completely agree that the game should have fauna. It's one of the ideas I had that I didn't make into a thread yet. I think the oceans on byblos would be pretty empty without seeing fish swimming in them etc. Birds in the sky would be nice. Some smaller grazing animals etc.
