Future Additions to Space Engineers Xbox

Space Engineers has been one of my all time favorite games to date. I love the open world exploration the game offers, I just bought the xbox one version (have owned the pc version since it was beta) and it’s awesome. I’m excited for a lot of the features to be installed in the console version such as the planets sometime mid may. I have some thoughts on cool additions to SE:

NPC’s: it would be really cool to see some npc’s added to this game. Perhaps adding some to the stations orbiting the moon and on the moons surface. Maybe adding civilian ships just randomly roaming around in space. It would add more detail and make things feel more lively so to speak, makes it so it doesn’t seem like you are the only one next to your multiplayer buddies living in the world of se. adding some npc’s on planets would be cool too, as well as adding more bases on the planets and such to go along with them which leads me to my next point

Stations: i think the stations are really cool, they add more purpose to the game and the contracts give you a goal to achieve, it would be awesome to see more contracts, as well as more objectives in general, perhaps some npc’s could give you some things to do, being able to cooperate with npc’s would be really cool too, but i understand that would take quite a lot more devolopment.

More random encounters, more naturally occuring stations: i think adding some more bases and stations to the game, in space and on the surface of planets, would be a super cool addition, there are times where i land on planets or am roaming space when i feel like the world is quite empty and lacking that kind of backround detail that makes the world feel more alive. Maybe this could be implemented in to a specific world scenario or mode, considering it is a sandbox type game, but it would still be cool if there were more frequent stations and bases;different variances as well, enemy and friendly ones, it would def help add some flavor to the planets more than anything! Sometimes the game can feel a little lonely, these things would definitely contribute to a more purposeful feeling with more things to do and discover, and ultimately achieve.

Black holes: come on, who doesn’t love a black hole ;), many common players have added black holes in the workshop on the pc version, considering xbox’s regulations, you guys at Keen would most likely have to devolope this one yourselves which i know wouldn’t be too difficult, they are just super fun to mess around with, and look beautiful.

Settings: i think it would be cool to add a feature that allows you to change your speed to higher than 100mps, considering the distance some planets are, even with a jump drive it can take a long time to get there. To be fair i love the realistictness the game offers by traveling and i have stuff to keep me busy around my ship while traveling, but maybe add an advanced setting feature where you could travel faster (500-1000mps) and maybe add a disclaimer that it could possibly cause sim problems among other things, considering the possible problems that may arise from being able to go that fast.

Jump drives: i love the jump drive simulation: i think it would be really cool to add a longer jump drive simulation where depending on how far you are jumping the simulation might take longer (like in interstellar when they traveled through the wormhole and it took a considerable amount of time in the 4th dimension to reach their destination)

Worm holes: jump drives are cool, but worm holes are awesome too, i imagine you guys at keen may be able to devolope something cool in terms of wormholes, maybe adding another star sytem mode where there are multiple star systems, and the distance to get to a different system would be astronomical, thus you could find worm holes somewhere along the way to bridge the gap it would take to get to a different star sytem! (Sounds cool doesnt it?)

Enemies: one last thing i wanted to talk about was enemies: i think it would be really cool to see more enemie factions in general, in space, and on planets, it would give the game even more detail and a much higher desire to set up a defense system for bases and add more livelyness to the worlds, animals and humans, (and aliens of course). It would add more of a competitive feeling to the worlds and space in general, making you feel like you have to compete for recourses and land, it could also really aid in making the nights on planets more eventful, (or dsytimes too!). Speaking of nights, i think a cool feature you guys could add is being able to sleep in the beds overnight and wake up when the sun rises, or vice versa and sleep thru the day!

Anyways, I wanted to let you guys know i love this game so much and you have my full support. I’m loving every single bit of this game and it’s super impressive what you guys have already achieved and what you have been able to put in to the console version already. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for space engineers. :)

maybe with a system like this we could have all the planets and moons in the same game or save, since we can only have 3 planets at a time;;;;;;

Well, keen is dropping a update mid may that will bring us all the planets the pc version has, including the alien planet :) but i defintely think it would be a great addition to have wormholes to connect multiple star systems anyways. Maybe mix match what type of planets can be found in each system, and what stations/bases and factions/life are present in each for example.

yes i know that but in the topic just below it said that xbox can handle only 3 planets at a time due to memory limitation, so in the beta we allready have all the planets but not in the same star system, however i can spawn 10 planets earth if i want...

Oh i gotchya, maybe you are right then. Maybe making the star systems far enough away from eachother might help with that issue, by using wormholes to travel extreme distances between systems. Ive never had issues spawning 6+ planets in one game, never had any performance issues using my xbox one s! So thats good to hear at least. Im looking forward to seeing what they can do
