Welding is not using the resources of the containers

Won't Fix

Hello.

My friend have a problem in a multiplayer server... usually he use a welding ship, and it works properly, but when he attach the small ship to a station via connectors to resuply, the welders wont take the stuff from any part of the ship unless it's in the welder it selfe, he have to move the stuff manually to the welder to do it work, but only while the welder have stuff, when it's empty still don't care abou what is in the ship, only getting in creative, weld something and returning to survival the bug get fixed.

our system it is necessary to have reliable steps to reproduce in order for programmers to fix it.

I read it when I wrote the bug, for my friend it happens mostly after disconnect from a connector and just the system to transfer components to the welder, so I thought it's a different bug

Hello.


I personally don't know much details about it, cause the bug is from a friend, as far as I know the welder ship have the next components:

- a connector

- cargo container (don't know how many and size)

- 2 welders

- a 3x3x3 cockpit

- one or two gyroscopes

- ion propulsion


The server is a private one, with a max of 6 players (not by game rules, I think is set to 15).


The type of conexión which we know is causing this iusse is S.G. to L.S.G., at the disconnection of the connectors.


I can't provide now a B.P., cause the server is off, my friend still didn't come back from the school and I don't have a copy (I will upload one as soon as I can)

My personal opinion as programmer:

After thinking for some days, I think that could be the reason of the bug (I didn't read the game's program, so it's what I think what happened with the information I have):

By how is the bug happening, I think the welder have a local memory with the inventory ID, which is a good way to make the system don't have to search which blocks have inventory, reducing the ejection time. This memory must be updated on the connect and disconnect of the connector; for some reason, at the disconnection of the connectors this list don't get updated properly, so it search in a wrong ID or even it don't have some IDs.

Thank you for your response, we will look into this issue. However, unless it can be reproduced on a clean, un-modded server, it is usually caused by a certain mod or by combination of mods which we have no control over. Can you please confirm this issue also occurs without mods?


We will share more information regarding any progress made on this issue with you once we have had time to examine it further.
