Unable to upload workshop blueprints

Vilkann shared this bug 4 years ago
Solved

Ever since I got the game about a year ago I am still having trouble getting them to upload. Every time I try to upload a blueprint I get the error "unable to publish to workshop." After all this time it feels like I've tried everything. I've reinstalled the game, enabled and disabled steam cloud, to using world's that had nothing in them except what I wanted to upload.

The ONLY "fix" I found so far is to remove the thumbnail image from the blueprint file, and it sometimes works, but there's no thumbnail. No, you cannot edit the thumbnail after it's uploaded.

Seriously people? This is not a new bug. There are bug reports on this site that go back several years. I am getting frustrated with this long time bug.

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for contacting us. Is this issue happening in a vanilla game (no mods)? Is your Steam online? Can you please attach here a blueprint file you are trying to upload? You can access your blueprints by typing %appdata% into your windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thank you.

Thank you for the response.

Whether or not the game is vanilla or modded I cannot upload anything. My steam client is online.

Note this was built on one of your official servers.

I'm also linking a forum post I made on steam a while back on the same issue:

It has been 24 hours since my reply.

No response yet.

I am growing very impatient.

I've seen bug reports on this exact issue that go back 13 months. Seeing the replies there it's likely I won't be getting an answer. This bug has been ongoing ever since I got the game! "Cannot upload to workshop" is a pretty major freaking bug. I've done my part to give you as much info as I can, but all I hear are crickets.

I'm done with you keen, your worthless "DLC's" are ruining space engineers. It is obvious you do not care about the playerbase or the game for that matter. Are you going to abandon it like medieval engineers and go on to strip money from some other game?

The only reason this game is still alive is because of the modding community, and what do you do? Strip mods from the workshop and label it as your own behind a paywall.

Same issue but I also have it for worlds however before the pressurisation update I was able to post stuff to steam workshop. It also says that it failed to post but when I go on to my workshop page for space engineers there is a blank icon there that was automatically set to private. I don’t have the same issue with any other steam workshop enabled game however.
