Sensor block can't detect voxels

Solved

A tiny issue I found with the sensor block it can't detect voxels. I really miss having my bombs exploding when they detect voxels. This has been a issue before the new MP update...


Also I made a report on a copy and pasting issue.

Hello,

We've just retested the sensor on 185 and you are correct, it really was possible to detect planets. I believe the person, who was testing it previously, was unlucky and found a place where it just didn't detect it. I apologize for this mistake. I already found a ticket, updated it and hopefully we will find some time to investigate it soon.

It is probably caused by new voxels merged in 1.186 and we will need to find out if this can be easily fixed because we wouldn't like to reintroduce feature which does not work properly.

Same for me currently.

+ add option to detect Non-Player Characters (wolves, spiders ...).


Consider also missiles and meteors.

Planet detection never worked because this function is not implemented.

It is not a bug but please add it as suggestion. We can take a look at it.

Mr Keen Support, you are mistaken, Sensors could detect planet voxels before 1.186, not very accurately, but it did work, it was a usable way to make warheads detonate just before impact, here is a video showing sensors detecting planet voxels from 1.185

What the heck... I made bombs long ago when sensors DID detect planets and it was so much fun! I know that my bombs may miss the target but at least they could explode near it by detecting the PLANET ((in 2017)) !!!

Keen, that is a negative; sensors were indeed capable of detecting planetary voxels for quite a while. I highly recommend that you pull up an older version of your game to actually get your facts straight. One of the releases from 2017 should do.

This is indeed not the case. Prior to 1.186 sensors did detect planet voxels. As Nikolas March mentioned, it was not perfect but it worked. Here is bug report from February 2018:
