Lightning strikes underground

Solved

I love this game. I just recently purchased this game and already have 200+ hours.

I have a base on the Earth-type planet. It has two entrances 500+ meters apart on opposing sides of a mountain and about 30 levels difference. Right in the middle of this small mountain is my assembler/refinery room. It has been struck by lightning twice in the last week. How can lightning strike inside a mountain and not do any damage outside? I do have two decoys on one entrance and none on the other. Do I need to put decoys 16+ levels down inside this mountain to attract the lightning so it doesn't destroy my base? I love the weather effects, but lightning storms are really too intense, or is this intentional? Can we please have an option to scale the lightning back some? Again, thanks for the updates.

Same issue, my base built inside a mountain is getting ravaged by indoor lightning strikes while decoy placed outside is without a scratch. https://imgur.com/a/gFCw14v

Same. I purposely built a base underground to avoid lightning strikes, only to see this:
