Heavy Industry Update : Programable Block

Thomas Humphries shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

Hi there, I have added a youtube video to show what I am trying to explain.

I have enjoyed this game for a few years now, so thanks for that for a start, but I am unable to use the programmable block and it's scripts.

I am unable to to select check cancel or ok the main UI after clicking on the programable blocks script editor. The editor can be used, but nothing else.

I have to press ESC to fall back a menu, but we all know that. :D

Oh, Video, sorry!

Again, thanks for the great game.

I do not have all the DLC, but I give what I can.

Hello, Thomas,

sorry to hear that you are experiencing this.

We had same/similar thread about this issue already but it looks like it was sorted out with the 199 update.

There is actually a workaround when this happen to you:

"If you press and hold one mouse button on a button, then click the other MB, focus is removed from the textbox and the buttons work again normally (as well as the Escape key). It doesn't matter if you go RMB to LMB or LMB to RMB."

Please try this workaround, and let me know if that works for you as well.

Since we didn´t manage to properly reproduce it on our side, the fix was done from the sole code, without any repro steps. So this might be the reason why it keeps happening to some.

If it will keep happening to you, and it won´t be just a single-time thing, can you try to verify the game data on Steam (SE - right click - Properties - Local files - Verify integrity of game files)?

If this won´t help you, please navigate to your Roaming folder (by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected there), follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers, back this folder up (so you won´t lose you save game, blueprints and such) and delete it.

Once you run SE again, this folder will be created anew with all the fresh files and configs.

If you will find any more information, ideally some decent steps to reproduce, that would be the best!

Thanks in advance for you reply.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards

I have the same issue, I had scripts working for a couple days after freshly installing the game and then I installed this script https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=436109051&searchtext=airlock. I am not sure if steam just had a issue when installing it or something but after I loaded the game in again I could not press any of the four buttons or the X button to exit out of the window, I could use ESC to close the window without any problems but all the buttons are lit up when you press them no action happens and like the poster said the only functional part is the code editor.

For troubleshooting I have already tried to validate the games integrality, I also tried a quick reload using F5 and it seems to be cross world issue not just a issue with one specific world. I tried uninstalling the script above and the issue stayed so maybe its a key bind or something that messed it up, I was not really paying much attention what I was doing only that it suddenly stopped working.

I just tried deleting the %appdata%\Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder after backing it up and its for sure something to do with that directory it seemed to fix the issue after I did that I still have the old folder so I will link to it on Google Drive as its to large to attach here, hopefully it will be of some use for you guys to figure out the issue.

I will bookmark this page and check back in a couple days to see if you need anything from me further.

Hopefully though the old folder I backed up will be enough.

here is the zip folder on Google Drive
