Game stutters without fps drops on windows 10

Won't Fix

Hello, i have submitted a bug yesterday about SE stuttering in windows 11 (support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/game-stutters-without-fps-drops_1) and you rightfully advised me to go back to windows 10, but after some more testing i discovered that the changing back to windows 10 did not solve the stuttering. I am using a Zbook Power G7 Mobile Workstation which has a i7-10750H, 16 GB of ram, NVIDEA Quadro T1000 with Max-Q design and now windows 10 as my OS. The game stutters every few seconds without dropping frames (see the video). I updated to the latest drivers, reinstalled the game and deleted the shader casches, but nothing helped. But when running the same harddrive (so same OS installation, same world, same installation, etc) on a different PC (i5-7400, 12 GB ram, NVIDEA GeForce GTX 750 Ti) and only updating the drivers using windows (because without drivers ofc nothing works) I have no problems running the game. I gues it is a problem with the drivers and i am not sure if that is your problem to fix but i thought i would let you know and ask for some advise.

Hello, Bryan!

Thank you for your report. Your log says that you still have Windows 11. Could you please attach here a new log? Also I would advise you to do complete reinstall of your OS.

Thank you.

I indeed accidentally sended the logs from the windows 11 installation, here are the ones from windows 10. I run SE on a clean installation of windows 10.

Hello!

Thank you for your update and your logs. I can't see any exception or anything suspicious there. Please try following steps:

  • Verify your game files in Steam (Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files)
  • Since deleting ShaderCache folder didn't help, please back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers (clean install)
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Let me know if it helped you.

Kind regards

Keen Software House
