Frequent Crashing on Intel Graphics

Alex L shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

Space engineers will not run on any device using intel integrated graphics. I've tried with a few different laptops and keep getting an error from Space Engineers that my computer is overheating even though it isn't.

I have no issue playing any other games in my library. Space Engineers is the only one that crashes every 30-60 seconds.

Hello, Alex,

thanks for sharing you issue with us.

However, I ´m afraid I would need more information. Can you please share a log file that is generated after the crash?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers. From there, you will find couple of files - please share me here your most recent SpaceEngineers_(number) and VRageRender files, so I can take a closer look on what is happening as well as what is your GPU.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Kind Regards

Hello, Alex,

thanks for the log.

Well, unfortunately I have no good news for you :( It turned out that your GPU is not meeting the minimum requirements.

While it was possible you ran the game on the previous versions, it´s likely that with the new update, some more things, physics and so on was added that needs better (still in the boundaries of the min specs, though) GPU.

You might want to try to roll back to v197 or older and play on the that version and maybe try to update with the new one (v199). But I can not guarantee that you will be able to run the game on newer versions :( Sorry to say that.

You also might want to try to change the graphical setting to minimum, if the game would hold long enough for you to be able to change it.

Kind Regards

I have the same graphics processor. Its on par with a GTX 1050ti or amd equivalent. It is a very capable integrated gpu and to say it is not meeting the minimum requirements is a joke. There must be another underlying issue if this is occurring, because my game runs perfectly until it suddenly crashes, see my post for more info.
