Each time I reload my map or restart the game, sensor range detection resetted by default.

Solved

Hello,

I modified a map and add an elevator. To detect the level of the elevator, I add sensors. but each time I restart the game or reload my map, I have to set the detection ranges in my sensor parameters because values are set by default.

for information I'm obliged to set once more these parameters on the 8 sensors:

Left detection range: 1.5 m

Right detection range: 1.5 m

under range: default 0.5 m

hover range: 0.5 m

front range: 6 m

back range: 0.1 m (default)

But it's strange that only the range values are reset and not the other detection parameters like "player detection" or "small ships"

Is the modified ranges stored in a local file?

Hello, Engineer!

Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce your issue. It might be world related. Can you please upload here file with your world so we can try to reproduce it there? Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I joined a RAR file with inside, the save folder of my world in creative mode.

When you are standing in front of the elevator, the sensors are underneath the surface of the elevator in the left wall there is four sensors.

On the top in the front wall there is also four sensors.

These eight sensors can normally detect when the elevator is on the top or on the bottom level.

the four sensors on the bottom (underneath the surface of the elevator when it is on the bottom) functions are:

-change the bottom doors ON or OFF state

-Extend the pistons to lock the elevator in place (top or bottom).

-change the buttons state for calling the elevator (from bottom to top level and from top to bottom level)

and the same functions for the sensors on the top part

In my save, the bocks names are in french. I'm sorry for this.

Many thanks for your help.

I thought that i could make a script to set the sensors's extend ranges each time they lost their parameters but, apparently I can't modify these properties by coding.

Many thanks for your help

Kind regards

I've had a comparable issue. My sensor is a small block on a subgrid of a large block grid.

Hello Rembo Moes,

Thank you for your reply and for your help.

In my world, my sensors are placed on big blocks and they normally can detects the elevator plate that made small blocks with... I thought that was because I activated blocks mod in my world and can cause bugs... but I'm not sure... I tried to create a new world without mods and only with big blocks... Nothing has changed... after close and reload... the same issue appears... so I don't know if that's an in-game bug or anything else...

Many thanks!

Kind Regards.

Hello there,

My issue is finally solved!

Well, I've had to completely uninstall the game from steam and then reinstall it!

Yeah, in the game, I had sometimes blocks that did not appears and let empty spaces where I couldn't place anything else..

After that step, I loaded my savegame and everything has been returned to the normal.

I think that when I installed mods, maybe a few files were altered and in consequence, had to create bugs!

So, I would like to thank you for your help and for your replies.

Kind regards.

Hello Catalin Toma,

I seen you're using mods in your world and I think I've solved your problem.

Well, I have tested all mods I found in your list and One of the activated mods causes this issue. "Holographic Radar".

I deactivated this mod, Set once again the sensor's ranges and saved the world. after reload, the values I previously set are ok. the sensor is running fine. I don't know if you're using this mod in your world, but If yes, you'll be obliged to set the values each time you'll play with this world.

Problem solved for me. Hope that will be for you too. ;)

Check if on you computer the result is the same.

Kind regards.
