Dampeners fight Thrust Override with Hydrogen Thrusters [1.192+]

Kyle Clarke shared this bug 4 years ago
Won't Fix

When I use thruster override with dampeners enabled, the hydrogen thrusters will fight it as if there is no override. Atmo and ion engines don't have this problem.

I usually encounter this with a ship already built and loading the game, or copying in a ship. It can be fixed by depowering it with Y and powering it up again, but with large ships with multiple small ships that disconnect it's a real pain.

I usually have a mix of ion, atmo and hydrogen thrusters with an override, not sure if the hydrogen is fighting the other types or not but it's only the hydrogen thrusters doing it.

Hello, Kyle and Nathan!

Thank you for updating us that this is still an issue. Is it possible to provide a blueprint that this is happening on?

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.

It happens on any blueprint with hydrogen thrusters when pasted in. This definitely-100%-original-design blueprint is my latest and has the issue. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2408931559&searchtext=kt-1500

Hello, Kyle!

Thank you for the blueprint. When you say 'fighting' what happens from your side just to make sure we are experiencing the same thing? Also, to double-check too, are you enabling thruster override on all thrusters? Is it possible to supply a video of the fighting you are experiencing?

Kind Regards

I don't have a video, but what happens is if I apply 10% override to forward thrusters, the opposite thrusters will act like dampeners and the ship goes nowhere. Sometimes it moves but really slow.

Hello, Kyle!

Thank you for the information. Are you finding that this happens every time you try to fly it or, is it happening say once in 10 tries? Is this happening for all atmo/hydrogen ships you are creating or just this one?

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineers!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards

Try harder. This is an issue again. It's insanely easy to reproduce. Here's a new report and here's video proof that the bug exists.
