Crashing when re-joining EOS server

Ciaran Clark shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

Crash occurs when re-joining an EOS server on PC. Message of the day shows over the loading screen then the game freezes and crashes to desktop. Joining a new server does not crash the game. Exiting the game then re-joining the server then crashes the game. "User is already joined" also occurs sometimes after a crash when attempting to re-join an EOS server, even after multiple days.

Hello Ciaran!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue and thank you for the information. Is it possible to please have a log of the crash? That way, we can take a look at it.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards

I've attached two logs. Sometimes the game crashes with an error saying saying the graphics driver has stopped working and sometimes the game just closes with no error message. Hope these help

Hello Ciaran!

Thank you for proving the logs. As there is a line regarding 'Message: The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action.' How are your temperatures? Are they running ok? Are you currently overclocking? Could you also please update your GPU drivers with a clean install?

Kind Regards

I uninstalled my drivers and reinstalled the latest version for my GPU, however I am still crashing to desktop during the message of the day screen. My temps hang around 45°C consistently, and gpu load doesn't peak past 10% aside from "Video Encode" which spiked to 100% in task manager at the time of the crash.
