Space Engineers 1 issue

Hello

I have invested around 800 hours into Space Engineers, primarily building a very large carrier project. After months of work, I encountered persistent physics behavior that I could not resolve despite extensive troubleshooting in both Survival and Creative. I rebuilt sections, removed mechanical subgrids, tested clean blueprints, and isolated the issue to the main grid. The project has become unusable. I’m extremely disappointed because I spent more time debugging engine behavior than building. I’d like to know whether this is a known engine limitation and whether there is any support or compensation available.”

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Keen Software House.

We're sorry to hear you've run into this issue.

From your description alone, it's unfortunately not possible for us to determine whether this is a known limitation, a bug, or something specific to your world or grid.

Could you please provide us with some additional information?

  • Which platform are you playing on (PC - Steam or Windows Store, Xbox, or PlayStation)?
  • Is this happening in a single-player world or in multiplayer?
  • Are you using any mods?
  • Could you describe the physics issue in more detail? If possible, please include a video or screenshots showing the behavior.

If you're playing on PC, it would also be very helpful if you could share your save file and the game log from the affected world.

Regarding compensation, we're unfortunately unable to provide compensation for issues of this nature. However, we'll be happy to investigate the issue and see whether we can identify the cause or suggest a possible solution.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Kind regards,

Subject: Re: Space Engineers issue #56140

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Here is the requested information:

  • Platform: PC (Steam)
  • Game mode: Single Player
  • Mods: No gameplay mods affecting physics. The issue also occurs with a stripped-down blueprint. (If you want, list the few UI/QoL mods you still have enabled.)

Description of the issue

The affected grid is a very large static grid (“Shark”).

The issue is not normal physics instability or explosions.

The grid slowly changes position by itself. After loading the world, it moves in one constant direction. Over multiple reloads it can shift several blocks.

Another symptom is that collision detection becomes incorrect:

  • the grid can pass through objects instead of colliding correctly,
  • trees can end up inside the grid or terrain,
  • collision appears to desynchronize from the visible model.

The movement is always in the same direction and is repeatable.

I have already tested several things:

  • converted grids between Station and Ship,
  • removed unnecessary blocks,
  • created clean blueprints,
  • tested in Creative,
  • detached grids,
  • rebuilt parts of the structure.

The issue still occurs.

I will provide if needed:

  • a video showing the movement,
  • screenshots,
  • the affected save file,
  • the game log.

This appears to be a physics/collision issue rather than a normal grid instability.

Thank you for investigating.

Kind regards,
