Game Stuttering Version 1.205.026

Hello Engineers

I have had a lot of micro stuttering lately

the general performance is very good and I have 120fps+ but as soon as I move through the world I have heavy fps drops down to unplayable frames and screen freezes.

these problems occur in vanilla as well as in modded games

I never had such performance problems before even with 100+ mods

My system specs are:

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX

Corshair 6000 32Gb of RAM (2x16Gb)

The Game runs on a SSD

Hello Benjamin,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum. We’re sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing.

Could you clarify if the SSD you mentioned is external? If so, the stuttering you’re experiencing might be related to the connection type or the slower read/write speeds typical of some external drives.

If the SSD is internal, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Ensure your operating system and graphics drivers are fully up to date.
  2. Launch the game and try lowering the graphics settings. To do this, navigate to Options > Graphics > Quality Preset, and select "Low" or "Medium." Save the changes.
  3. In the Options > Display menu, check that your dedicated graphics card is selected under Video Adapter, and that the recommended video mode (indicated by asterisks, ***) is being used. Save these settings as well.

After making these changes, please check the game in a vanilla (unmodded) world to see if the issue persists.

If the issue continues, press Shift + F11 while in-game to enable the World Stats overlay. Record a video showing the lag/stuttering and share it with us. Additionally, please provide the log files (both SpaceEngineers_ and VRageRender-) from the time when the issue occurred.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

thank you for your reply.

I took care of your advise and try everything.

The solution for the problem was to delete the SpaceEngineers.cfg and the ShaderCache folder. I found it in an older topic from 2022.

Now the Game is running well again and no Stuttering anymore.

Thank you for your reply.

Could you please confirm whether deleting the SpaceEngineers.cfg file and the ShaderCache folder has permanently resolved the issue, or if it is still occurring? If the issue persists, kindly share the latest log file with us.

Hello,


Yes I can confirm that deleting this 2 files for me are fixing the problems I described.

Until now and 20h of playing along i had no longer stuttering issues with and without mods or experimental mode enabled.
