Graphics device driver has crashed

Won't Fix

This issue keeps happening to me like every ~30 minutes or so, I assume it crashes when it tries to stream. Extremely frustrating issue because when I crash, I die because I'm jetpacking or my rover blows up because Im driving. Basically cannot play the game at this point.

I have:

4090

14900K (Literally swapped from a 13900K to see if it fixes this, it did not)

32GB Ram

NVME SSD

Attached is the log file.

Also, this issue has literally never happened to any of my friends on the server, who have lower specs than my system. This issue also never happened when I last played the game around a year ago.

So I turned off grass and I haven't crashed in 4 hours of playing. I believe this fixed the issue. Pretty annoying because now the game looks like shit, but its better than crashing every 20-30 minutes. cb8a4d497bd80f8e51aedb034fb37658

Also I do not overclock, I've tried downloading older NVIDIA drivers, I've tried completely reinstalling the game, cleared AppData folder. Tried possibly everything. It's just broken

Any update on this issue? I would like to be able to use grass sometime in the near future.

Hello Ryan,

Thank you for writing to us, and we sincerely apologize for the delayed response to this thread.

We’re glad to hear that lowering the grass density and distance has helped resolve the issue for you, though we understand it may have impacted your game experience. Could you kindly provide us with more information about this issue?

Did this occur on a modded server (with active mods/scripts) or on a vanilla (unmodded) server?

From the shared log, it appears you’re playing with high graphics settings. Could you let us know what happens if you change the graphics quality to low or medium? Does playing on these settings resolve the issue?

To change your graphics quality:

  • Go to Options (from the game's main menu) > Graphics
  • Select Low or Medium from the Quality Presets dropdown
  • Click OK to confirm, then rejoin the server where you initially experienced the issue.

If the issue persists, please send us the latest crash log file (named SpaceEngineers_) along with the VRageRender- log file.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
