Need More Information

I am experiencing an issue where upon joining any multiplayer world, I am left unable to see the respawn menu, planet, or open any of the menus besides blueprints and the in game warnings. This issues has persisted through several re installs, clearing the SE roaming data, and the modding SDK for some AMD CPU issues. Attached is a picture of the issue.

Hello Gabriel,

thank you for reaching our forum with this problem. Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this,

First of all... can I ask why you are sharing the "Fix thread" from Reddit? Does that mean that it also did work for you and now you can play normally without issues? So you don't need any more assistance?

Or did you try to do the same on your machine with no success?

While you are writing that you have tried some of the general workarounds, it would the the best, if you can do all of these once again (including those that you already did in the past, so we have that as a base line for further investigation). These are:

  • Verify your game files in Steam – right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files
  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file (it means your game configuration will be deleted) – you can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Delete ShaderCache folder – same access as above
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game – please make sure that you do clean reinstall. That means that after uninstalling it through Steam, you should navigate to both folders – the SE one in the Roaming folder and also the one from Steam (\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers) and make sure that there are no folders/files leftover. If yes, please delete these manually before trying to install the game again.
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Please after performing these, let me know if the problem gets any better on your side.

If not, please share me a video from the issue happening on your side, as well as a log file from any of the affected game sessions.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

Apologies, I meant to include that the linked fix did not resolve the issue, but I must've forgot to add that back in.

All steps that you listed have been retaken, unfortunately with no success in resolving the issue.

Video of bug can be found here: https://youtu.be/nkkfqpHC1DI

Attached should be the latest SE log and VRage log

Digging into this a bit more, I found another thread here that has the same issue that wasn't resolved. https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/pc/topic/22879-joining-any-server-puts-me-in-spectator-mode
