Hello, Shiralee!

Thank you for writing to us and we sincerely apologize for the issue you have been experiencing.

Kindly try the following steps that could help you in resolving this issue;

- Updates your OS

- Update your graphics drivers

- Edit SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Go into your .cfg file and run a Ctrl+F search for "DirectX". When you find the text, check to see what number follows it. If it says DirectX 9 or 12, all you need to do is change it to DirectX 11 (replace the existing number yourself) and save it.

After completing these steps, launch the game and check if the issue persists. If it does, please send us the latest complete log file.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department

Hi, I have tried all of that. The cfg. file is not available at all in my %appdata% as shown in the above log file, the whole cfg. file cannot be found. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and deleted every file to do with the game before reinstalling again

Hello, Shiralee!

We regret to hear that none of the workarounds have helped in resolving the issue.

When you performed the clean installation of the game, did you delete all remaining files from the 'AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers' and 'Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers' folders? If not, please uninstall the game via Steam and delete any leftover files from those folders.

Once done, reinstall the game and check whether the .cfg file has been generated in the 'AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers' folder. If not, could you possibly borrow the 'SpaceEngineers.cfg' file from a friend who also plays Space Engineers?

After acquiring the .cfg file, launch the game to see if the issue persists. If it does, please provide us with the latest log file.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
