Crash: NullReferenceException in Sandbox.Game.AI.CollisionAvoidance on grid init with no physics

validpoint shared this bug 6 months ago
Won't Fix

When a grid is created through the ObjectBuilder and has an active autopilot on being spawned, the game will crash, with the error log pointing to Sandbox.Game.AI.CollisionAvoidance.MyAutopilotCollisionAvoidance.AvoidCollisions

b7985c1caaea5e1fa1fabbeda13349d6

The blocks that appear to cause this is the Remote Control's autopilot and the Automaton update's Flight Movement block, both of them have the "collision avoidance" terminal option.

This issue was found because we were trying to make a mod that shows a live updating 3d floor plan of your current target (a really small copy of your target that's just in front of your camera on your client). The issue pops up when the small copy of an AI grid has its physics removed and is under active autopiloting.
