Hello, engineer!

Thank you for writing to us, and we sincerely apologize for the issue you have experienced.

While we have not found any errors or exceptions in the log file, could you kindly try the following steps that may help resolve the issue:

1) Clear launch options from Space Engineers on Steam.

2) Verify your game files on Steam

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

3) Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

4) Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg

5) Please also make sure your OS and all drivers are updated.

Once completed, launch the game via Steam and check if you still experience the issue.

If the issue persists, kindly send us the latest crash log, along with the log from the Windows Event Viewer when the game crashes.

To get the Windows Event Viewer log, please open the Event Viewer (from the start menu, type Event Viewer). In the Event Viewer, go to Windows Logs, Application, and send the top “.NET Runtime” error from Application: SpaceEngineers.exe. (please see attached image).

To do this right, please follow these steps:

1) Select the correct file on the left side (Application)

2) Select first the .NET runtime error from the top (using default ordering)

3) Copy the large bottom text and send it to us.

Please Note: make sure that the info is from the Application: SpaceEngineers.exe

Kind Regards,

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for sharing the update, and we apologize that none of the above workarounds solved your issue.

The reason for asking to update your OS was that there have been reports from other players of faulty Windows Updates that have been causing Space Engineers to crash. For a few players, this issue has been resolved after their OS has been updated and is stable.

However, after reviewing your latest log file, it appears that the game couldn't locate the config (.cfg) file, which may be the cause of the issue you've been experiencing. To resolve this, we recommend performing a clean installation of Space Engineers. Before you proceed with the clean installation, please make sure to back up your Save and Blueprint folders from the following directories:

  1. Save folder: \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves
  2. Blueprint folder: \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints

Move or copy these folders to a different folder or drive to prevent any loss of your game progress and blueprints after the reinstallation.

Please follow these steps to perform a clean installation:

  1. Uninstall Space Engineers through Steam.
  2. Delete any remaining files from the following directories:
  • \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers
  • \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers

Reinstall Space Engineers through Steam. Try launching the game through Steam.

If the game launches without any issues, you can then move your previously backed-up Saves and Blueprint folders back to the \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers directory.

If the issue persists, try adding the -skipintro launch option to Space Engineers in Steam and attempt to launch the game again.

If the issue still occurs, please send us the latest log file when the crash happens, and if possible, the Windows Event Viewer log as well.

Kind Regards,

No luck, on a fresh start files removed / appdata removed, uninstall, reinstall. would crash on intro, until I skipped the intro in steam launch. which got me as far as the menus and anything I choose to play freezes at loading screen. when looking at the logs its at the same place.

Hello, engineer!

It appears that MyAudio.UnloaData or MyAudio.LoadData are not the root cause of the crashes/freezes you've been experiencing.

Upon reviewing your latest logs, we identified a consistent error present in both logs:

Error initializing PerformanceCounters. CPU and Memory statistics logging will be suspended.

Try running "lodctr /r" in admin command line to fix it.

In this previously reported thread, another player encountered the exact same issue/error as you're currently experiencing. This player reported that the issue was resolved after reinstalling Windows 10. However, before considering a full OS reinstallation, we recommend visiting the Steam Community link provided in the thread. Many users with the same issue have successfully resolved it using alternative workarounds there.

Please let us know if the workarounds mentioned in the Steam Community discussion or a Windows 10 reinstallation resolve your issue.

Kind Regards,
