Event Controler - Event: Distance to locked Grid - Issue!

Two issues:


1) When having an event controller set to the event: "Distance to locked grid" with event controler threshold 2000 - 2500m with condition: "equal or below" it can happen, that the event controller never triggers, even when a locked grid comes close. Since the AI Defensive block searches for new targets every 5 seconds only, it can happen that the enemy grid gets locked on AFTER it already passed the event controllers threshold, and the event controller is somehow only triggered, when the threshold is PASSED by the ALREADY locked grid (being below its threshold is not enough somehow). So with timing, it can happen, that a moving grid with 100m/s speed will never trigger a event controller with theshold 2000m or above, since the grid has to be locked BEFORE passing the event controllers theshold. This issue could be solved by reducing the "searching for enemies" cooldown of the AI defensive block to close to 0 seconds or to make it immediate.


2) The second issue is, once the event controller gets target distance input from the defensive AI block, it never triggeres its second action slot when the target is destroyed or completely removed, it only triggeres the second action slot when the target itself moves out of threshold range again. Even when the AI defensive block is seaching for new targets because the old one got destroyed/totally removed, the evencontroller still shows old Target info in the control panel and doesn't delete the old target.

If the issues you have experienced differ from those mentioned in these threads, please provide additional information. It would be helpful if you could share a screen recording or video demonstrating the issues happening at your end, along with a blueprint of your grid or a saved world that allows us to replicate the issues.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.
