black screen crash on or soon after world start

Won't Fix

Attached are what I hope are the relevant log files. I've reinstalled the game, updated drivers, played without mods (despite them working before regardless), read numerous unhelpful forum posts, and yet past couple days the graphics crash (can still hear audio) on world load or shortly after. I'm out of ideas. Thank you for any help you can provide

Thank you for writing to us, and we apologize that you're experiencing this issue.

Could you kindly share further information concerning this issue?

Are you using multiple displays/monitors? If so, please remove other displays and try playing the game on the main display/screen to check if that resolves the issue.

Also, after investigating the provided logs, we found plenty of MOD related errors. The issue may be occurring due to obsolete or broken MODs, kindly check if the crash happens only when loading a particular modded world or even when starting/loading a new/fresh vanilla (no active MODs) world as well.

If the issue persists, please try the following workarounds that might resolve this issue ;

Verify your game files on Steam

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers, DirectX, and your operating system

If the game crash still occurs on the vanilla world, kindly send us the latest log files.
