Space Engineers - Game crashing

Vitor Blanco Barbosa shared this bug 18 months ago
Solved

Hello,

After the Automatons update, my multiplayer save started to crash Space Engineers after a few seconds, with or without mods, even if I try to play at lowest graphic settings.

My Specs:

Ryzen 5 5600x

Rtx3070 ti

32gb RAM

I have no overclock or overheatings issues, I've tested my hardware, even formatted my Windows and kept the task manager open during the game, but no clue.

Thanks in advance

Currently, there is client freezing issue related with Heat vent which is set 0% power dependency.

If you set one of heat vent block's power dependency 0%, it might this issue.

If you know how to use SEToolbox, open your save with SEToolbox and select each grids to find you placed the heat vent with 0% power dependency. then remove those heat vent block.

If you have a moment before freezing, quickly open the terminal and set them greater than 0%.

Hello. Vitor!

Thank you for writing to us, and we apologize that you're experiencing this issue.

Could you kindly share further information with us?

Does the crash happen when playing this particular multiplayer save or also when playing in a new/fresh vanilla (with no active MODs) world? If the issue occurs in a new vanilla world as well, kindly send us the log file when the crash happens.

If the issue occurs only with this particular save, is this world save created when the BETA update was released?

Please send us this multiplayer world save, the new/latest crash log file, and Windows Event Viewer log when the game crash happens (if the game crash happened when playing in the new vanilla world as well, kindly send us Windows Event Viewer log for that as well).

  • You can access your saved files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

To get the Windows Event Viewer log, please open the Event Viewer (from the start menu, type Event Viewer). In the Event Viewer, go to Windows Logs, Application, and send the top “.NET Runtime” error from Application: SpaceEngineers.exe. (please see attached image).

To do this right, please follow these steps:

1) Select the correct file on the left side (Application)

2) Select first the .NET runtime error from the top (using default ordering)

3) Copy the large bottom text and send it to us.

Please Note: make sure that the info is from the Application: SpaceEngineers.exe

Kind Regards,

Hello, Vitor!

We are glad to know your problem has been resolved by the workaround suggested by Arstraea.

Although we are aware of the heat vent block's power dependency 0% issue (link) and it has been already reported internally.

Since there is no further assistance needed anymore from our end, we are closing this thread.

Happy engineering!

Kind regards,
