Hello, Nico,

thanks for letting us know.

Can you please provide more information? Is this the first time you are experiencing this issue? Before that, the game was working fine for you?

What exactly is happening when you hit the "start the game" button in Steam? Can you please describe it or send me a video showing the behavior on your end?

Please try these workarounds:

  • Verify your game files in Steam – right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files
  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file (it means your game configuration will be deleted) – you can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Delete ShaderCache folder – same access as above
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

If nothing from above would work for you, can you send me the new log that is produced after perorming all these steps; to see if something changes?

Thank you.

Kind Regards

Hi, Borsti!

Thank you for sending us the log files.

After investigating the files, it seems the game couldn't find the config file. If possible could you get the config (.cfg) file from a friend who also plays Space Engineers? You can also try SE's new/fresh installation by deleting every leftover in both the Roaming/SE and Steam SE folders.

If the issue persists, could you send us the screen recording/video showing the behavior on your end and also a log from the Windows Event Viewer?

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
