Regarding an old "File errors" form...

Dominic Oddo shared this bug 22 days ago
Solved

Good day,

I am having issues regarding music files, and sure... I found a form explaining it, but that was 11 months ago. Apparently, it's registered as a "Need More Information." I would like to follow up if there's a solution yet? This bug is rare according to the form, with about ~7 people finding the same error, but it's gamebreaking. Vanilla or not. Ondrej Borz mentioned that they do not support mods, but the form says even in vanilla mode without mods, it won't work because of the error.

I tried Star System in offline mode, rid of any mods it works... But, in a private Star System, new save with mods, it goes... Bleh.

So to answer, it does not happen to vanilla worlds when loaded/started. According to the "workarounds" like verifying files, deleting the .cfg etc... According to a similar post, at the end, the author states:

"I also cannot join an official Keen server, it just says 'Lost Connection, attempting to reconnect' over and over again. I assume that is because of the music errors listed above. I already tried removing all mods, verifying files, restarting steam, clearing the cache, etc." So, it seems the workarounds provided may not work.

For more information, email antugugr9@gmail.com for my personal email. I really don't want to delete Space Engineer files and risk the entire game not running, or removing every single mod I subscribed to, just to play the game.

Thank you.

Could we get this ticket changed to "Solved?"

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching out and for your patience.

First of all, I’d like to sincerely apologize for the delay in our response — it's been 22 days since you submitted your ticket, and we’re truly sorry for the wait.

Regarding the issue you've described: since the game functions correctly in a vanilla world without any mods, the error you're encountering appears to be caused by one or more installed modifications. As a rule, we are unable to provide support or guarantee stability for worlds that include third-party mods. If the issue does not occur in an unmodded environment, it should be reported directly to the author of the affected mod.

Also, thank you for letting us know that you found a solution on your own. As requested, I’ll mark the forum thread as solved.

Should you experience any issues in the future — especially in vanilla — feel free to reach out again. We're always happy to assist where we can.

Kind Regards,

Ludmila Danilchenko

Head of Space Engineers QA Department
