Captured NPC ship disappeared

Playing in a local game I have captured and claimed an NPC pirate ship but after a few minutes they disappear either when I move away from my base or when I use them, leaving my character in spectator mode.

We’d like to make sure it's not a separate or unique case, for that, could you please provide a few more details to help us confirm?
Are you experiencing this issue on the latest version of the game (1.206.032)?
Is the affected world or server modded? If so, please try creating a new, unmodded (vanilla) world or server and check whether the issue persists there.
If the issue still occurs in the vanilla world/server, please share a screen recording/video showing the issue, the save file of the unmodded (vanilla) world/server, and the log files from the time the issue occurred.
