So i was trying to build a self expanding drill pipe. Also called infinite drill.
What i got into is that the drill would fold in half (picture attached) and stop working properly.
The second image is my setup. I have a projection that gets printed by a welder and then using the piston gets moved down, its then secured by the bottom connector and the piston resets back to the top and repeat. Amidst that moving of the piston and the changing of grids due to the merge blocks the drill gets bugged.

Hello Archangel,
Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.
Is this issue occurring in a modded world/server or a vanilla (unmodded) one? If it’s in a modded world/server, please create a blueprint of the affected grid and paste it into a new vanilla/unmodded world. Check if the issue still persists. If it does not, the cause might be related to the mods or scripts active in that environment.
However, if the issue does occur in the vanilla world, please send us a screen recording/video showing the issue, along with the vanilla world save file.
Kind Regards,
