Space Balls not updating to gravity

Xendaka Korva shared this bug 3 years ago
Solved

idk what you guys over at HQ did but the space balls are acting up.

such as when already in a gravity field then activated they just sit there until you touch them or if you change the tonnage settings on them, they also seem to only update if a mass block is active AND within a gravity field.

this has made designs using gravity as a way to propel player made weapons USELESS unless they do some extra steps to get it to work IN THE FIRST PLACE.

and yes I'm aware that this bug has happened before but after the latest update this very bug has poked it's head out to be a nuisance.

Hello, Xendaka,

thanks for letting us know about your issue. While I did try to do some things with Space balls, but you are trying something special, as I see from "designs using gravity as a way to propel player made weapons". Can you please share the world with this design already in it or share the BP of that design/weapon, please? Also explaining a bit more what exactly the issue is would be nice, as it is not clearly stated here. Either explaining by text or with a video would be great help - what is wrong and if it worked as you expect, what it shall do.

Thanks for providing info in advance.

Kind Regards

basically whats going on is that a spaceball attached as a subgrid does not seem to realize it's tonnage setting untill you either touch it or change it's settings around to update the programing.

this happens every time the space ball was reactivated.

however I was able to work around this by setting the timer blocks to do the decrease and increase setting on their own.

and man did it take forever for me to figure that out.

I will see what I can do about setting a video up along with the world for you to see what I mean.

Hello, Xendaka,

thanks for coming back. However, there´s something off with the world you provided. Neither me or my colleague can load/open it upon subscribing to it. If you can try to reupload it so it´s working, that would be a great help! Or please provide at least the video, so I can see how this construction of yours is made so I can try and replicate it - either on YouTube as you stated or on Google Drive.

Thanks for those in advance.

Hope we will be able to come up with something as soon as I manage to reproduce it.

Kind Regards

Hello, Xendaka,

thanks for the video and especially for the "Needle" ship BP. That was great help in order for me to understand what it should do :)

Issue was successfully reproduced and put into our internal system.
