When I try to launch the game it brings up the logo but it never starts the game.

Hello, thanks for the quick reply. I have deleted and reinstalled the game several times, I have changed the version of the game with no success. I have reinstalled my graphics drivers, reinstalled the .Net frameworks and also reinstalled Directx. The only version of the game that will run is the dx9 branch for some reason.

Well just so that this topic can be closed. I ran steam as administrator and it solved the problem. As usual I tried everything except the simple correct solution.
