Ship suddenly stops responding to movement controls, drifting uncontrollably through space.

Evan Purl shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

Suddenly two of the thrusters were constantly burning, using a lot of hydrogen, the ship couldn't turn or move at all, turning the thrusters on and off did nothing either. Tried leaving and rejoining also didn't help. Eventually, we got it fixed by cutting and pasting the ship back in. That's the only way I've been able to fix that issue so far.

It's worth noting that the ship had hydrogen in the tanks, was powered, and was previously moving fine before this issue occurred.

We have been getting what could be the same thing, the player completely loses the ability to control the ship (via W,A,S,D), no movement control from the mouse. All menu's still work. What we did find would bring control back, was having another player jump in the control seat, then back out of it.

At one point, all engines were on in the control panel, you could hear them firing but there was no graphic showing them running. They were not running though, or at least they were having no effect, the ship fell out of the sky.

It seems to happen randomly with no apparent pattern to it.

Hello, Engineer!

Could you please provide us with a blueprint of your ship or a save of your world, where you are experiencing this issue? Thank you.

Not OP, but this happened to me a few times in the public servers with some friends. If you ask in the Discord plenty of people can confirm this. Just ask the admins how many times they have to repaste people's grids because of this problem
